The New York Times has hired Beard award-winning Tejal Rao as a food department staff writer and monthly columnist for its magazine. She joins from Bloomberg Pursuits, where she served as a food editor and restaurant critic for two years. She was previously with Tasting Table, Saveur and The Village Voice.
