The Washington Post has announced some changes to its editorial staff. Ruth Marcus is now deputy editorial page editor for WaPo, following several years as an editorial columnist and editorial board member. She will continue to write a weekly editorial column, and will also help guide the recently announced Global Opinions project. Marcus is a WaPo veteran with over three decades under her watch, having joined the staff in 1984 as a reporter, later serving as deputy national editor before joining the editorial board.
In other WaPo news, sports reporter Jorge Castillo will now cover the Washington Nationals and professional baseball. He joined the staff in 2014 to cover the Washington Wizards and professional basketball, previously a sports reporter for The Star-Ledger.
