Jessa Crispin, founder of the online magazine Bookslut, has announced the site’s final chapter. While the site’s archives will remain active, Crispin has said no new content will be produced. Bookslut launched in 2002, and quickly became a fresh voice in online literary journalism. Citing a distaste for the current literature industry and issues with the time and money-consuming aspects of running the site, Crispin has decided to focus on other pursuits, including a new book to be published at the end of May. Be sure to check out past and current issues of Bookslut online while you can.
