Cision Blog regrets to inform its readers that nationally syndicated radio host Doug Banks has passed away. He had hosted the Doug Banks show from iHeartMedia’s WVAZ-FM in Chicago for the past several years. Banks began his radio career at his high school radio station. After high school, he worked at a number of stations, including KDAY and KFI in Los Angeles, KLAV-FM in Las Vegas, KDIA-AM in San Francisco and WBMX (now WVAZ) in Chicago. Following that, he launched his self-named nationally syndicated radio show, which he hosted with DeDe McGuire. He re-branded the show as The Ride with Doug and DeDe in 2008, but returned to its original name in 2010. He won many awards over the course of his career and launched the Doug Banks Literacy and Scholarship Initiative in collaboration with the Disney Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
