30-year NBC News veteran Jim “Mik” Miklaszewski has announced his retirement for the end of 2016. Miklaszewski is NBC News’s chief Pentagon correspondent, and notably was in the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, already reporting on the terrorist attacks in New York when the Pentagon was hit by another jet. He joined NBC News in 1985 as a White House correspondent and has also reported from the Falkland Islands, El Salvador and Lebanon.
