The Associated Press has promoted Peter Prengaman to news director overseeing coverage of Brazil, based in Rio de Janeiro. He most recently was a Southern Cone news editor in the AP’s Buenos Aires bureau since December 2014. During his 14-year tenure at the news service, Prengaman has reported from more than a dozen countries and was the recipient of an Edward R. Murrow award for video stories on the unemployed.
