Melissa Harris-Perry is in the process of being formally released from her duties as host of the Melissa Harris-Perry show on MSNBC. She will be leaving the network after a public spat with executives of MSNBC and NBC after her show was preempted twice in the past month in favor of 2016 presidential election coverage. The show, which has been airing on weekends during the 10AM to 12PM time slot, had been on the network for three years. Harris-Perry felt that her show was being sold short by network executives and opted not to appear on air or in a host capacity for the show this past weekend. MSNBC has yet to officially announce her termination as host of the show due to contractual negotiations.
