Terry DeMio of The Cincinnati Enquirer is taking on a new beat, a first for the paper: heroin. While she has covered the topic as part of a metro general assignment beat for the past few years, the heroin epidemic in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region spurred editor Peter Bhatia to put DeMio on the beat full-time. DeMio is on her second tour of duty with Enquirer Media, having worked for sister paper The Kentucky Enquirer from 2003 to 2005, returning to the staff several years ago after a stint as managing editor for CinciPulse.com.
