Anita Bennett stepped in to oversee the newsroom at the Los Angeles Daily News this week. As senior editor, she will oversee and print and digital output, with an eye toward increasing the paper’s online presence. Bennett comes to the Daily News from TheWrap, where she most recently served as senior editor. The Emmy Award-winning journalist first joined TheWrap as news editor in 2014 after a stint with Los Angeles CW affiliate KTLA-TV.
Also new to the Daily News is Ryan Carter, who joined the staff last month as city editor. He most recently served in the same role for sister paper The Sun in San Bernardino, California, on staff since 2010.
