Associated Press investigative reporter David Caruso has been named the news service’s new New York City news editor. Caruso joined the AP in 2001 as a reporter in Philadelphia, moved to the service’s New York City bureau in 2005 and joined the AP national investigative team in 2014. His coverage has included hydraulic fracturing waste disposal problems, 9/11 first-responder medical claims and overcrowding in nursing homes and mental hospitals following superstorm Sandy.
