After 48 years covering sports in Chicagoland, WGN-TV sports anchor Rich King has announced he will retire in June. Hailing from the city’s south side, King’s career in sports journalism began with an internship at WGN-TV in 1968. In 1970 he was hired by WBBM radio and television, where he spent 24 years and become sports director before returning to WGN in 1991.
