The New Yorker has made a couple changes to its editorial staff. Joining the staff Feb. 1 is Sharan Shetty, who will serve as assistant editor for books. He comes to The New Yorker from Slate, where he wrote for the magazine’s culture blog, Brow Beat, as well as the culture section. In addition, Alexandra Schwartz is now a staff writer for The New Yorker. She previously served as assistant editor since joining the publication in 2013, after a year with The New York Review of Books.
