Reuters has named Ayesha Rascoe as White House Correspondent based at the Washington, D.C. bureau. Rascoe was previously a correspondent on Reuters’ Professional News team, covering energy and environmental law. Before that, she worked at the news service as an energy reporter.

Reuters has also brought on Brian Thevenot and Lisa Girion to the Top News team; both had recently accepted buyouts from the Los Angeles Times. Thevenot was deputy business editor at the LA Times, and will now be the Top News editor for the Americas. Before joining LA Times, he had brief stints at the Texas Tribune and St. Louis Post-Dispatch, after spending 11 years at the Times-Picayune in New Orleans. Girion was previously at LA Times since 1990, working in a number of roles including features editor to staff writer, most recently serving as an investigative reporter covering healthcare.
