Refinery29 has elevated two of its top staffers to new posts. Founding partner and editor in chief Christene Barberich will now serve as group editor in chief; the growing digital media brand recently launched in the U.K., and plans further expansion next year. Barberich co-founded Refinery29 in 2005 after stints with The Daily, CITY Magazine and Gourmet.
Going along with Refinery29’s global expansion efforts, EVP of programming Amy Emmerich will now serve as the brand’s first-ever chief content officer. She joined Refinery29 just last December, and has an extensive track record in programming and content development for outlets including Scripps, Vice, Travel Channel and MTV.
