Emily Yoffe, Slate‘s ‘Dear Prudence’ advice columnist, has resigned from the publication and the column, and will join The Atlantic as a contributing editor.

Yoffe had written ‘Dear Prudence’ for nearly a decade, as well as writing for their Explainer column and having created the Keeping Tabs column. Slate has named Mallory Ortberg as their new ‘Dear Prudence’.

Ortberg is the co-founder and editor of The Toast, a website she created and launched in 2013. Follow Slate on Twitter and Instagram to procrastinate better.
