The New York Times has announced that David Leonhardt will be moving from his role as editor of The Upshot to serve as staff columnist for the newspaper’s Op-Ed page. He will begin writing a weekly column published on Tuesdays and will also contribute pieces online and the Sunday Review. He will also take on the role of associate editorial page editor, working to improve digital strategy for the Op-Ed page. Leonhardt will move into this new role at the start of 2016.
