Trish Hall has been promoted at The New York Times to senior editor in newsroom. She will be focusing on identifying editorial projects as candidates for sponsorship, developing new editorial initiatives as a sort of projects editor (startups) and developing digital future in Styles and Features. Hall had been serving as deputy editorial page editor for op-ed since February 2011, during which time she created the Sunday Review section. Prior to this, she served as Living and Styles editor at the NYT since January 2010, as well as previously overseeing six features sections, and the Real Estate, Dining and Sunday Business sections while an assistant managing editor. She first joined the NYT in 1986 as a food reporter, but left in 1996 to serve as executive editor for Martha Stewart Living.
