After spending the last five years writing about the politics and policies behind food, columnist Mark Bittman will be ending his regular column at The New York Times to join a start-up food company. Bittman penned The Minimalist column between 1997 and 2011, and before that wrote the blog Bitten, which merged into Diner’s Journal in April 2010.
