The (New York) Daily News bids farewell to  outgoing EiC Colin Myler, who disclosed that he is departing to spend more time with family. Myler joined the paper as editor in chief in 2012, and was named president in 2014. He previously served as editor of the now-defunct News of the World in London since 2007, executive editor of the New York Post, and managing editor of the Daily Mirror and the Sunday Mirror in London.

Executive editor Jim Rich has been promoted to editor in chief. Rich has been serving as executive editor and head of content since December 2013. He previously served as night editor, deputy managing editor for sports, deputy sports editor, and joined the paper as Sunday sports editor in 2004. Before that, he worked at the New York Post for four years as  sports copy editor in 2000, and serving as the deputy night sports editor for the final two years.
