Effective September 1st, Dan Shea will take over as publisher of The Advocate in Baton Rouge, Lousiana. He replaces John Georges who is stepping down down from the position but will remain the owner of the paper. Shea has been the president and COO of The Advocate since May 2013. Prior to that he was managing editor of the Times-Picayune, also in Baton Rouge, for nineteen years. Follow the Advocate on Twitter and Facebook for breaking news and updates from South Louisiana.
