Former city editor Blake Kaplan has been appointed editor and vice president of the Sun Herald. Kaplan served as city editor since 2008 after serving as assistant city editor and originally joined the staff as reporter in 1994. Prior to this, he worked for CityBusiness, The Orange County Register in Santa Ana, California and The Ledger in Lakeland, Florida. He replaces Stan Tiner, who is retiring after 15 years as executive editor. Follow news along the Mississippi coast on Twitter.
