Rick D. Hall has retired from Deseret News. He had been serving as managing editor and executive vice president for the paper since December 2011. Before that, he had served as the managing editor since 1998. Hall originally joined the paper as a copy editor in 1970, and had also been the Olympics editor, city editor, state editor, city reporter and a sports reporter during his time at the paper. Additionally, Scott Taylor has stepped into Hall’s vacated role of managing editor. He had previously served as opinion editor for the paper. For Salt Lake City news, ‘Like” Deseret News on Facebook.
