The Hechinger Report’s Lawrie Mifflin has been promoted from senior editor to managing editor. Mifflin joined the publication in 2014 as a senior editor after spending over 30 years at The New York Times. She started at the times in 1982 as a sports reporter, and served in a variety of roles at the paper, including as national education editor, deputy sports editor, executive director of TV and video, before leaving the outlet in 2013 as a senior editor.
