Airlines reporter Terry Maxon and columnist Pamela Yip are taking buyouts and retiring from The Dallas Morning News on Sept. 11. Maxon joined the paper in 1983 and during his tenure has covered legal affairs, energy, public transportation and municipal government. He has also worked for the Dallas Times Herald and San Jose Mercury News, and got his start in journalism in 1973 at the Oklahoma Journal. Yip has been at The Dallas Morning News since 1999, as well as having worked for the Houston Chronicle for the ten years prior to that. During her long career, she has written for USA Today, Houston Chronicle, Los Angeles Herald-Examiner, The Record and most recently, United Press International.
