William Arkin and Leah Finnegan have announced that they are leaving Gawker. Arkin had been serving as the blog’s national security editor. Finnegan was working as a features editor for Gawker. These two departures come in the wake of controversy and turnover at the top of the blog’s editorial team, including the editor in chief and executive editor. Gawker’s CEO and founder, Nick Denton, announced on Friday that editors unwilling to work at the publication would be offered severance pay.
