Longtime NBC News senior vice president Alex Wallace has left the company after a decade. She was considered the “No. 2” in NBC News’ hierarchy, and has overseen news operations in Washington since January 2014, supervising Meet the Press. Prior to this, Wallace oversaw production of Today and NBC Nightly News from New York since November 2012. She first joined NBC in March 2005 as the executive producer of Weekend Today.
