Marc Lifsher and Betsy Sharkey have both departed the Los Angeles Times. Lifsher, who served as a business reporter, joined the San Francisco bureau of the LA Times in 2004. He is leaving the paper to take on the role of communications director with the staff of state Sen. Fran Pavley. Sharkey joined the LA Times in 1998 and spent ten years as the entertainment editor.
