NBA analyst Bill Simmons will leave ESPN when his contract expires this fall. Simmons is featured on NBA Countdown and previously served as a writer for ESPN The Magazine. Additionally, he launched Grantland for ESPN in June 2011 and has remained editor in chief ever since; his departure has caused some to wonder about the future of this brand, though ESPN has stated that it “remains committed” to the site and its staff.
