Detroit Free Press editor and publisher Paul Anger has announced his intent to retire in May. Anger has been with the newspaper for 10 years and has spent almost 50 years in journalism. He was named editor and vice president after Gannett purchased the paper in 2005, and became publisher in 2009. Anger has won numerous awards, and oversaw the paper’s move into digital publishing.
