The Washington Post has made major editorial staff changes. Former economic policy reporter Lori Montgomery has been promoted to America editor on National Desk, overseeing longform news features nationally. Additionally, deputy business and economics editor Alan Sipress has been named the federal editor, and local politics editor Amy Gardner has been promoted to senior local politics editor. Also, Wesley Lowery has been tapped for a new beat, national law enforcement agencies and how they interact with communities. He had previously served as a politics reporter covering Capitol Hill. Finally, Marcia Davis has moved to The Washington Post Magazine as a writer/editor.
