The New York Times announced several changes to its media desk, which has been beleaguered by departures and buyouts in the past several months, including the unexpected death of star columnist David Carr. Bill Brink and Connor Ennis have been named media editor and media deputy, respectively. Brink has been on the media desk since 2011 as deputy editor, while Ennis most recently served as the paper’s weekend business editor. Additionally, John Koblin has moved from the Styles section to replace Bill Carter as television reporter; Carter accepted a buyout in December. Lastly, Sydney Ember will cover advertising and marketing, replacing veteran reporter Stuart Elliott, who also took a buyout.
Excited to be joining NYT media desk as Bill Brink's deputy and to work w/new additions @koblin @sarahlyall & @melbournecoal
