The AP has announced several changes to political coverage for the 2016 presidential campaign. The following announcements were made: Lisa Lerer will join the news service in April to serve as political reporter covering Hillary Clinton; Julie Pace will add 2016 campaign coverage to her role as chief White House correspondent; national politics reporter Thomas Beaumont will also cover Jeb Bush; reporter Philip Elliott will cover Senate Republicans seeking nominations; reporter Ken Thomas will focus on the Democratic party; reporter Steve Peoples will focus on the Republican party; reporter Jill Colvin will cover New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, as well as general New York 2016 news; political reporter Nicholas Riccardi will cover West political developments, as well as Bill Barrow; reporter Jesse J. Holland will cover race, ethnicity issues and voters; news survey specialist Emily Swanson will oversee polling; and Congressional reporter Donna Cassata will cover Capitol Hill.
