BuzzFeed is bringing on a slew of new editorial staff to enhance its San Francisco bureau. John Paczkowski has been named managing editor for the bureau, overseeing its tech coverage. He most recently served as deputy managing editor for Re/code. Caroline O’Donovan of Nieman Journalism Lab is joining the staff to cover tech and its intersections with culture and the economy. Nicole Nguyen will be the new tech and products editor for the bureau’s new BuzzFeed Life team. She previously worked for POPSUGAR’s tech vertical. Lastly, William Alden will cover the technology industry. He comes to BF from The New York Times’ DealBook staff, where he covered Wall Street. These four join two new BF hires from early February, articles editor Ellen Cushing and senior science/medical tech reporter Stephanie M. Lee.
