The Associated Press has announced two new staff appointments. Africa desk editor Carley Petesch has been named West Africa correspondent, based out of the Dakar, Senegal bureau. Petesch has been on staff at the AP since 2007. Additionally, veteran journalist Claire Galofaro will join the Louisville bureau as administrative correspondent for Kentucky and Tennessee. Galofaro was most recently a reporter for The Courier-Journal, and previously has worked for The New Orleans Advocate, The Times-Picayune and the Bristol Herald-Courier.
