The Boston Globe has named Mark Pothier assistant managing editor for the Sunday Opinion Page, effective in mid-March. He is currently the business editor for the paper, a role he took on in August 2013. He was previously the real estate editor as well as the bureau editor for Globe South, and joined the publication in September 2001. He was formerly executive editor of Memorial Press Group Newspapers, where he was responsible for managing nine weekly newspapers. He joined Memorial Press Group in 1983 as a reporter.
