Brian Barrett has left his role as editor in chief at Gizmodo. He’s launching a new site with The Awl this year. Barrett had served as editor in chief at Gizmodo since May 2014.

Replacing Barrett is Annalee Newitz. She most recently served as editor in chief at io9. She has been replaced by Charlie Jane Anders. Anders most recently served as managing editor.
