Turner Broadcasting has split original programming at TBS and TNT, announcing new leadership for both divisions. Brett Weitz, previously senior vice president of scripted development at both TBS and TNT, has been promoted to executive vice president of programming at TBS, and Sarah Aubrey has been hired in the same capacity at TNT. The move signals a larger effort to ramp up original programming and enhance brand identity at both networks, most likely to better compete in today’s aggressive basic cable market.
