Sophie Donelson has been named editor in chief at House Beautiful, effective Feb. 2. Donelson has previously worked for leading publications including ELLE Decor and Martha Stewart’s now-defunct Blueprint magazine. She succeeds Newell Turner, who has held the top spot at House Beautiful in addition to his role as editorial director of Hearst Design Group, which includes ELLE Decor, House Beautiful and VERANDA.
