Chicago Tribune has announced changes to its Springfield, Illinois bureau. Next month, the statehouse coverage will be overseen by Monique Garcia as the new bureau chief. She most recently worked from the main office in Chicago, joining the Tribune in 2007. She replaces longtime bureau chief and statehouse correspondent Ray Long, who has served in this role since 1998, after stints with the AP’s Illinois statehouse bureau and the Chicago Sun-Times. Long will be moving back to the Chicago office to focus on investigations. Follow the Tribune’s politics and government team on Twitter.
