Alan English has been promoted to president and publisher at The Times in Shreveport, Louisiana, up from executive editor and general manager. Before re-joining the paper last year, English held prominent roles at the Log Cabin Democrat in Conway, Arkansas, as well as the Augusta Chronicle in Georgia.
