Frederick J. Ryan has joined The Washington Post as publisher, replacing Katharine Weymouth. He was previously the president and COO for Allbritton Communications and served as the first chief executive of POLITICO, which he co-founded. He also worked for the Reagan administration. Chuck Culpepper will also be joining The Post as a sports reporter. He was most recently a staff writer for Sports on Earth since August 2012. Prior to this, he served as sports columnist for The National, based in Abu Dhabi, UAE and as a London sports correspondent for the Los Angeles Times. He was also a sports columnist and features writer for the Herald-Leader in Lexington, Kentucky, The Oregonian in Portland, Oregon and Newsday in Melville, New York.
