NECN/New England Cable News has announced two changes to its news department. Broadcast veteran Kenny Plotnik has been named the vice president of news. He most recently served as vice president and news director for New York ABC affiliate WABC-TV from 2002 to 2012, previously an assistant news director and managing editor for the station. Also, Brian Shactman has been named anchor for NECN’s The Morning Show. He most recently worked for MSNBC as anchor for Way Too Early. Previously, he served as anchor for Worldwide Exchange and Sports Biz: Game On at CNBC. NECN is the largest regional cable network in the U.S., offering breaking news, sports, weather and traffic.
