The layoffs at Gannett continue as staff at The Tennessean were offered the opportunity to reapply for jobs in the newsroom, be laid off. Effectively, about 15 percent of the newsroom were cut, including sports reporter Josh Cooper; society & travel editor Rusty Terry; and high-school sports reporters Chip Cirillo and Maurice Patton.
