Higher education reporter Eric Weddle has been laid off from The Indianapolis Star. Weddle joined the paper as an education reporter in March 2013. He previously worked for the Journal and Courier as a higher education reporter covering Purdue University from 2007 to 2013.

Additionally, health & fitness reporter Barb Berggoetz is no longer with the paper. Berggoetz previously worked as a higher education reporter. She joined the paper in May 1985.

Both positions have been eliminated. Follow The Indianapolis Star on Twitter for breaking news  out of Central Indy.
