Joan Lunden has been named as a special correspondent for NBC’s Today show. Lunden is best known for her role as a co-anchor of Good Morning America from 1980 until 1997.She started her broadcasting career in 1973 as a weather anchor and consumer reporter at KCRA-TV in her hometown of Sacramento, California. Lunden is a breast cancer survivor and will will start her new role at Today as the program kicks off Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
