Larry Ingrassia has announced his retirement from The New York Times, effective in December. He has served as the deputy managing editor since December 2013. His previous roles were assistant managing editor of New Initiatives in Online content and Business Day editor. Prior to joining the paper in 2004, he was assistant managing editor of The Wall Street Journal. His roles at that paper included money and investing editor, head of a special development project, and positions with the Chicago, Minneapolis, London and Boston bureaus.
