Lauren Kern will return to New York magazine in late August as its new executive editor. She replaces John Homans, who ended his two-decade tenure in July to serve as features editor for Bloomberg Politics, a new digital venture launching in October. Kern previously left New York in 2010 to serve as deputy editor for The New York Times Magazine.
