WMAQ-TV Channel 5 recently announced it will be expanding its midday news by replacing the current 30-minute NBC 5 News at Noon with an hour long newscast. Starting Sept. 8, NBC 5 News at 11am will be anchored by Marion Brooks and Stefan Holt. Also, Byron Miranda will be joining the station as Meteorologist for the show. He is currently a meteorologist at KNBC-TV. Finally, Cheryl Scott has announced that she will be leaving the station. She is currently the weekend morning meteorologist. She will be replaced by Alicia Roman, who is currently the noon newscast meteorologist. Scott’s last day is Sept. 14.
