Midwest staff writer and bureau chief Mark Guarino will exit The Christian Science Monitor on August 22. The publication has decided to shut down Midwest coverage that is based out of Chicago. Guarino will continue as as a freelance writer covering music, culture and news, in addition to serving as a contributing music writer for the Chicago Tribune. Prior to The Christian Science Monitor, he was a music critic for the Daily Herald.
