Alan Murray has been named the new editor of Fortune. He replaces Andrew Serwer, who will vacate the post after eight years as editor and 29 with the publication. Murray was most recently the president of the Pew Research Center since 2012. He previously served as deputy managing editor and online executive editor for The Wall Street Journal, and has served as Washington bureau chief for CNBC. Murray will join Fortune on August 25.
